I was appalled when Brexit passed- it was a cunning, terrible case of Tories pandering to all the worst in the human condition: prejudice and bigotry, xenophobia, ignorant voters, ill-considered nostalgia, apathy by too many people who chose not to vote, coupled with malicious politicians who repeated deliberate lies about consequences and outcomes for the majority.

Triumph

The thing they did not think could happen had just happened. It was to have both immediate and long term negative impacts on every generation living and for generations to come. It had been driven by cunning men who had designed a plan to strip people of their homes, their hopes and their futures- and they had sold that plan to the very people it would strike the most. The cunning men had sat in backrooms of palatial homes and planned to steal houses and turn them into rentals, control food supplies and make certain they owned the land that could produce food, and drive people into poverty as great as had existed in the past when people lived in rat-infested slums and died early of disease and weak constitutions due to malnutrition.

The Tory MP and his cronies in office stepped outside. “It’s a new day, my friends…..
