LOOKING
“You have to learn to really look hard, and you have to learn to listen harder”, he said. “That’s how you find ‘em”. He looked over at the other young man sitting across the table from him. “I come to these sci-fi cons and I try to explain- you don’t have to look at the skies to find aliens, man, they’re here– here now. And don’t think I don’t know how crazy this makes me sound, because I do. But now I’ve seen ‘em, talked to one and I know… and there’s no going back from it, once you know.”
“I hear you, Dan, but I mean, it does sound nuts. I mean, don’t you think if they were here, there’d be more evidence?”
“Like what? What do you want? What are you looking for? Grey people? Souped up secret cars on the highways? Secret meetings? “ He laughed. “Man, I hear ya. I was like you. It took me a while, but then I figured it out. I kept looking for something outside the norm, something big– and then it hit me- it wouldn’t be big- it’d be small, and they’d blend, man. And that was when I started really thinking about it, looking, listening. But it wasn’t till a long time later that I found them. And when I did, it was like – oh shit, man, it was so obvious” he slapped his hand on the table “.. and that’s why we’ve missed it for so long- they’ve been hiding in plain sight the whole time!”….
