The Tear
THE TEAR
What other race stands with shattered dreams in the wake of your race’s rise?
Did you ever wonder what another has lost, that you might win the prize?
O favored children! What we’ve paid is more than you would pay,
Our cost the shattered hopes and hearts that paved your race’s way.
Look down with some humility before you swell with pride-
For your sake others quit the stars and many of them died.
Be certain that you know and bear the knowledge of the cost,
Burn it deep into your hearts that the memory not be lost.
Let not our scattered lives, lost hopes, be sacrificed in vain;
Put down your hate, your fear, your greed, and seek the stars again.
Together, you could reach the stars and ride the cosmic winds…
Brethren! Seek the stellar seas and help us dream again!
