First, Dear Reader, you must understand that this is not a story. It is not a fairy tale, nor is it a fantasy. This, Dear Reader, is a history. It is told around campfires in places past and distances traveled. It is a history told so it cannot, will not be forgotten. In the pages of this history, you will find stories about the lives of those who lived, loved, fought, and died. You will read how some were betrayed and some did the betraying. You will meet those whose loyalty was so great that their names will stand forever, and you will find those who chose to ride the stars and those who sacrificed the stars to walk on a world.

But there is more. Some of you might discover long forgotten, long hidden ancestors. You may discover in these pages those whom you might have known, had they not had to go into the Deep Silence. Or perhaps, some of you might discover your own memories and perhaps-  perhaps- some of you might discover your own people.

And so, Dear Reader, enter a history book and walk its pages, in the knowledge that the new lands you discover may be familiar, after all.
