In the Company of Friends
Alexander and Hephaistion were born into a world where aristocratic families vied for thrones and influence, where power was a field of war and battles were often the measure of a man’s courage, and the Gods were real. Philip, Alexander’s father, is a force of nature: intelligent, ruthless and cunning, he is determined to make his bloodline a dynasty for history. His mother would fight for her position and for the accession of her son- but not without cost to her son. Alexander and Hephaistion will have to walk a maze of loyal friendships and devastating enemies. Each choice they would make, each decision, would impact whether they survived or not.
It is a tale of a world in which power is all, threats to that power must be stopped and people were expendable if they threatened your position. The theme of their world was power: what people do to get it, keep it and find a way to use it to their advantage.
But more than a story of power, it is a story of love. Alexander and Hephaistion will face and endure the challenges to their love, through war, adversity, personal conflicts and enemy intrigues, until the final proof is given for all the world to see.
